While doing some sightseeing in Italy on a Trafalgar tour, we visited the Trevi Fountain. I’m sure there are companies involved in restoring and maintaining this world-famous landmark. Maybe some companies offer their services in-kind.
However, we would consider it tacky to have a banner across the Trevi Fountain: RESTORATION SPONSORED BY ABC FOUNTAINS, INC.
A far better option would be for the Trevi Foundation to host a seminar on historic preservation and include someone from ABC Fountains, Inc. as a panelist.
Similarly, it’s tacky when associations just display a sponsor’s logo with the tagline WEBINAR SPONSORED BY XYZ COMPANY on the last slide of a webinar.
A far better option would be for the association to feature the sponsor as a subject matter expert on the webinar.
